Overstable discs

In disc golf, "overstable disc" refers to a type of disc that is designed to resist rotation and maintain its straight trajectory during the throw. Overstable discs tend to fly straight and then cut to the left (for right-handed throwers throwing backhand) when screening. This makes them ideal for throws that require precision and control, especially against the wind or for throws that need to cut to the left.

These discs are useful for more experienced players who want to achieve accurate throws with greater distance and consistency. Overstable discs can also be used for hyzer throws, where the disc is thrown with an incline to the side to create a curved trajectory, but will still land in a controlled position.

It is good to note that the stability of the throw can also depend on the player's arm strength and throwing technique; a disc that is overstable for one player may behave differently for another player with a different throwing style or strength.
