Numbers on disc
The numbers on a disc golf disc refer to the disc's specifications and performance. Most disc golf discs have four numbers, which represent the following:
Speed : The first number indicates the speed of the disc. This number typically ranges from 1 to 14, with higher numbers indicating that the disc can fly faster. A disc with higher speed often requires more force to throw correctly.Glide : The second number indicates how well the disc glides through the air. This number ranges from 1 to 7, with higher numbers meaning the disc will maintain its height and glide further after being thrown.
Turn : The third number shows how the disc responds to rotation during the throw. This number can be negative or positive. A negative number (e.g. -1 to -5) means the disc will turn to the left (for right-handed throwers) during the throw, while a positive number (e.g. +1 to +5) means it will turn to the right.
Fade : The fourth number indicates how much the disc will cut off to the left (for right-handed throwers) towards the end of its flight. This number ranges from 0 to 5, with higher numbers indicating a more pronounced cutoff.
Together, these four numbers give a good idea of how a disc will behave, helping players choose the right disc for different throws and situations on the course.
