New to disc golf

If you are new to disc golf, here are some of the most important tips for you to make the game fun to start with.

1. Discs
Of course, you need a disc to play with. It can be incredibly confusing to buy discs when there are so many different ones on the market. Don't think too much about it at first.
We have a starter kit that you can buy, but if you come by, we would be happy to advise you on what to start with. Then you will also have the opportunity to touch the discs.

2. The track

Now you are out on the field and about to throw. We recommend that you download the Udisc app. It helps you find your way around the field and you can enter your score.
As a newbie, it would be a good idea to start from what is called the Red layout. It is the shortest to the basket. It is found on most courses. If not, it will be called Yellow. Each hole on the course has a "par" which means that from the Tee* (*where you start) you have X number of throws to get to the basket. Then just get started :-)

3. Rules
Like all sports, disc golf has rules. And there are many of them. But we have found the most important ones that you, as a newbie, should know.

  1. SAFETY. A disc can come at a lot of speed and can cause severe injuries. Therefore, you must NOT throw if you can see any people around the direction you are throwing. So wait to throw until there is a clear path.
  2. THROW. When you throw a disc, you must throw from the position where the disc lands. That is, behind the disc, in the direction of the basket. You choose yourself (if you have several discs) which disc you throw the next throw with. If you choose the one you just threw, you must mark the place where the disc landed with a marker, so that it is clear from where you are throwing.
  3. WHOSE TURN IS IT? When several of you play a round together, there is no set order. When throwing from the Tee, the player who did best on the previous hole starts. After that, the player furthest from the basket throws first.
